Final CSRD properties impacted by Bush Creek East wildfire given ‘all clear’ status
SALMON ARM, B.C. — The remaining properties within the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) impacted by the Bush Creek East wildfire in the Shuswap have been given “all clear” status.
In a news release issued Thursday (Oct. 5) morning, the CSRD says there are no longer any properties on evacuation order or alert within its boundaries due to the wildfire.
However, the CSRD advises property owners to watch for potential hazards and go to its website for information on cleaning up burned structures.
Widespread evacuations were put in place on Aug. 18 when the Bush Creek East wildfire swept through the communities of Scotch Creek and Lee Creek, destroying dozens of homes. It was part of the costliest insured event ever in B.C.
The BC Wildfire Service says the Bush Creek East wildfire has been held at 45,613 hectares.
