City of Kamloops issuing test alert via Voyent Alert! app Thursday
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops residents who have signed up for Voyent Alert! notifications shouldn’t panic if their phones go off Thursday (May 8).
The City of Kamloops will issue a test alert on Thursday, meaning residents who have downloaded the Voyent Alert! app will receive either an email, phone call or text notification.
If an evacuation alert or order is put in place due to flood, wildfire or another critical incident, the city says Voyent Alert! will alert Kamloops residents and provide them with further information or instructions.
The Voyent Alert! app can be downloaded from the App Store for iPhone and GooglePlay for Android.
The Voyent app is utilized by several local communities to relay emergency information, including the Thompson Nicola Regional District.
