Evacuation order issued for Kuyakuz Lake area

Williams Lake, B.C. — An evacuation order has been issued by the Cariboo Regional District Emergency Operations Centre for 29 parcels in the Kuyakuz Lake area.
The order covers 92,335 hectares.
Due to immediate danger to life safety due to fire, members of the RCMP or other groups will be expediting the action.
Residents are asked to leave the area immediately. Those who disregard the order and remain in the evacuation order area do so at their own risk, according to the order.
Evacuation routes include east to Quesnel via Nazko or east to Prince George via Vanderhoof.
