RCMP investigating homicide in Lillooet, believe there’s no risk to the public

LILLOOET, B.C.— The RCMP Major Crime Unit are investigating a suspected homicide in Lillooet.
Lillooet RCMP say they and Statlimx Tribal Police responded to the 600-block of Main Street Tuesday (March 15) evening where they found a man having his serious injuries treated by BC Ambulance. The man was transported to Lillooet hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police say the victim’s next of kin have been notified although his name is not being released at this time.
“So far, this investigation leads us to believe this was an isolated incident with no elevated risk to the public,” Cst. Andrew Hodges states.
The RCMP Major Crime Unit will remain in the Lillooet area gathering evidence over the upcoming days.
